It is a mystical journey to discover distinctive art masterpieces and this exhibition is a showcase of some of India's best creative manifestations; conceptualized keeping in view the developments in the Indian art progession from the modern art genre on one side, with the likes of Indian maestros like M.F. Husain, Ram Kumar, F.N Souza, Sakti Burman & R.B Bhaskaran to the development and transition towards the Contemporary Indian artiests like Manu Parekh, Sajal Sarkar, Farhad Hussain, Prasenjit Sengupta and others.
From the beginning, the mystique of modern art has espoused exclusivity and the avant-garde had its greatest impact on the intecutalized few. It was essentially post the Progressive era which facilitated a new movement through Modern Indian Art and the Contemporary India.
'Timeless Treasures' is a conglomeration of 35 or more artists, each of whom have indulged in different idologies and mediums. It is a true representation of effort that is transgressing boundaries and proactively defying definition in the Indian context, narrating rich Indian culture through Kalamkari, Madhubani and several mediums & forms in the modern & contemporary era. The choice of artists and artworks is an endeavor to bring forth unique and treasurable art masterpieces that have such intensity & rigor that these have infinite value in times to come, despite all global financial turmoil.
Instense and razor sharp strokes of M.F Husain & Ram Kumar are soul touching and exhilarating. Husain's acumen to create masterpieces back in the 50's exemplify the latent of this visionary artist.
The real-life emotions and near epic events captured through yet another medium, that of photographs by eminent Raghu Rai, amongst others stand out as a medium that has the ability of capture several digressing, yet coherent elements in one shot.
Today, Contemporary India art has got a new canvas, and there is a growing school of thought that Indian art should reach the masses. The limited editions of Ram Kumar & A. Ramachandran which have been hand-picked & paint-stakingly produced on museum quality canvas, having achrival life of over 100 plus years re-iterates the growing demand of aspiring art aficionado's who want to acquire authentic masterpieces by senior artists of affordable value.
The vibrant Hyderabad hues by Jadish Chintala's life size and other sculptures reiterates the influence of strong folk culture within the Indian context, amongst other mental-based art forms like the Kaali & Taara sculptures which have their own identity.
We convey our deepest gratitude to all the artists and the Art Elements team, who have contributed in bringing together this very special and diverse show, to justify its space in the current times.
